ee portal is the art collective of Elyse & Emilio Portal. Since 2011, they have been collaborating on installations, performances & multimedia works around the themes of ecological collapse, resilience and animism. They reside in Sudbury, Ontario (Atikameksheng Anishnaabek) with their son Teo & their dog Pacha.

Joëlle Villeneuve

Originally from Sudbury, Joëlle Villeneuve holds a B.A. in Photography and Anthropology from Concordia University in Montreal, QC. Also working in the French-Canadian music industry, her images can be found on numerous album covers and promotional posters. Her practice focuses on our symbiotic inter-relationships with our surroundings, whether in the context of language, culture or geography. Using the photographic object, Joëlle questions how who we are and what we observe is based on the contexts that inform our surroundings.

Kathy Browning

Kathy Browning produced and directed the performance art group Phenomenθnsemble for eight years, while also playing acoustic percussion instruments she had created. This piece features her "Spring Drum." Kathy has received provincial and national awards and recognition for her work in art, video, acoustic percussive instruments, performance art, art education, writing, publishing, and editing. An artist and art educator, she has a Ph.D. and B.Ed., University of Toronto; M.F.A., York University; and B.F.A. Honours, University of Manitoba. She has exhibited her work in Canada and the United States.

Katie Huckson

Katie Huckson is an artist living and working in Bawating / Sault Ste. Marie. She is interested in media art, performance, collage, and experimental visual art projects, often making work that incorporates found images and archival family media.

Melanie St-Pierre-Bednis

Melanie St-Pierre is a musician, illustrator, and Northern Ontario’s music officer residing in Sudbury, ON. Melanie spent over a decade dedicating herself to the music and arts sectors in Ontario while also releasing music professionally and touring internationally with her band Casper Skulls. She has been revered by the likes of NPR, Billboard, Spin Magazine, MTV and Fader, to name a few, and has received a SOCAN Songwriting Prize nomination. In the visual arts world, she is inspired by visuals she interprets from literature, her appreciation for nature from her Northern surroundings, and the duality of urban living from her time spent living in Toronto. Her uncommon earnestness blends her contrasting visuals into absurdity loaded with meaning. She previously worked as the art director for Precision Record Pressing and has created graphics for Radiolab NYC Studios in New York. She was also the recipient of the Sheridan College Work on Paper Award of Excellence for her 2015 graduating year.

Nicole Poulin

A multidisciplinary artist, her art is born from intuitive impressions, reflecting an organic and spontaneous creative process. A Francophone living in Ontario, she explores and uses a variety of media in her work. Nicole Poulin is a passionate artist, a lifelong Sudbury resident and a proud Franco-Ontarian. A tireless artist, she has been an active creator since 2016. Her paintings and installations are physical and energetic, and have been featured in many Northern Ontario exhibitions. She collaborates with local artists to make art accessible and build a stronger community.
