Yvon Goulet

Portrait

Exhibition

The exhibition presents portraits of our closest relatives, the primates. All executed the same way, they are decals of photographs mounted on billboards, and enhanced with crayons and acrylic.

The artist explains: “Computers are present everywhere and art is no exception. Just like many musicians who play live, accompanied by pre-taped tracts, my works contain both PR imagery and more traditional elements.” Goulet chooses recycled materials for his work, be it printmaking, drawing, painting or photography. Theses enhanced and reprinted images, layered over recycled materials, offer a visual concert suggesting the movement of video-clips and are thus a reflection of the end of this millennium.
