Sophie Castonguay

La réception

Performance dinner at the Fromagerie Elgin

Sophie Castonguay is interested in the different ways in which the discourse around the work is articulated; to the spectator’s habits, to seeing together, to sharing looks and to commentary as a gesture of co-production of the work. Through the creation of visual devices (paintings, photographs, videos, installations) that she stages in performance, she tries to relate the creative gesture as an act of enunciation and the interpretive activity as a gesture of co-production of the work. Castonguay thus works in the interval between the tangible image and the projected image.

During the reception that will follow the GNO’s Annual General Assembly,  Castonguay will prepare a performance conversation during the meal. It is through sentences that the guests will have to read aloud that she will try to transform the words of the participants.
