The artist Denise Levesque is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, Ontario, in Visual Arts and Education. She has been involved in the educational gallery movement in schools and has co-founded an educational gallery at École Thériault in Timmins, taught visual arts didactics at the University of Ottawa, worked at the National Gallery of Canada in educational services and has sat on the boards of artists' groups in Montreal, Gatineau and Ottawa, including BRAVO-est, 2008-2011 (1st Nuit Blanche Ottawa).
Since 1977, the artist has exhibited in several venues including Galerie Imbert, Aix-en-Provence, Jean-Claude Bergeron Gallery, Rodrigue Lemay and Eugène Racette Galleries in Ottawa, l'Imagier and Montcalm Gallery in Gatineau, Pollack Hall at McGill University, La Galeruche in Timmins, Galerie du Nouvel Ontario in Sudbury, and others.
